Rule 26(a)(1) initial disclosures

Mandatory automatic disclosures required of every party in federal civil litigation.

FRCP 26(a)(1) requires each party to disclose, without waiting for a discovery request, four categories of information: (A) witnesses likely to have discoverable information, (B) a copy or description of documents the party may use to support its claims or defenses, (C) a computation of each category of damages, and (D) any insurance agreement.

Initial disclosures are due within 14 days of the Rule 26(f) conference.
