CourtListener is a free, publicly accessible corpus of US case law, dockets, and opinions maintained by the nonprofit Free Law Project. It is widely used as an open alternative to subscription research services for reading opinions and confirming that a cited case exists.
When Draftiro detects a supported case citation, it can attempt a CourtListener check when available and show verified, missing, or unchecked status. It is not a full citator — read the opinion and check subsequent history (Shepardize) before relying on a case.
