Request for Evidence (RFE)

A USCIS notice asking for additional evidence to decide an immigration petition.

A Request for Evidence (RFE) is a notice from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services asking a petitioner or applicant to submit additional documentation before USCIS will decide a pending case. The RFE states what is missing and sets a strict response deadline; a late or incomplete response risks denial.

RFE response drafting is a core immigration workflow — see how to evaluate AI for immigration attorneys.
