Legal services provided free of charge for the public good.
"Pro bono publico" ("for the public good") refers to legal work performed without fee or expectation of fee, typically for clients of limited means or for causes that serve the public interest. ABA Model Rule 6.1 aspirationally asks lawyers to provide at least 50 hours of pro bono service per year.
